Gold Coast’s premier music industry event, the Gold Coast Music Awards, is back for its ninth year, today opening nominations for 2023.
Despite challenging times for the industry, 2022 was an outstanding year for Gold Coast music and the Awards which saw almost 700 entries across 10 categories, and organisers expect even larger nomination numbers this year.
Nominations close on Friday May 26 and the outstanding 2023 finalists will be named Thursday July 27.
**Nominations have been extended and will now close at midnight, Sunday 4 June.**
Tickets will also go on sale from today to attend the crowning of the City’s rising stars during a glittering Red Carpet Gala Ceremony and Live Concert held at HOTA, Home of the Arts, Thursday August 31, in conjunction with SPRINGTIME Festival.
The 2023 Gold Coast Music Awards categories are:
- Artist of the year
- Breakout Artist of the year
- Live Act of the year
- Musician (instrumentalist / vocalist) of the year
- Release (album / EP) of the year
- Song of the year
- Studio Producer of the year
- Venue of the year
- Video of the year
- Visual Creative of the year
To be eligible musicians will have released, performed or been active in their category of choice between 1 April 2022 and 31 March 2023.
